Fujitsu's i-Flow 5.1 Includes SMS Messaging and Java-based Business Process Customization Features

Fujitsu Software Corporation recently announced the availability of its INTERSTAGE i-Flow 5.1 Business Process Management engine. i-Flow 5.1 meets industry demand for business process management products that include Short Message Service (SMS) messaging features allowing for wireless access, and Java Actions that allow enterprises to extend the functionality of their business processes using the popular Java language. i-Flow is a component of Fujitsu's INTERSTAGE e-Business Platform. The INTERSTAGE e-Business Platform also includes a highly scalable and reliable application server, a portal server, and an integration server.

Fujitsu has extended the architecture of i-Flow 5.1 by adding a SMS adapter that enables i-Flow users to have constant access to their business processes securely via a cell phone. In addition, i-Flow 5.1 enables users to invoke Java programs from business processes via the new Java Actions feature. Java Actions allow developers to more easily and quickly associate Java programs with process deadlines, process creation, process completion, task activation, task assignment, and task completion.

i-Flow 5.1 offers several new features, including an SMS adapter that enables mobile users to receive and complete prioritized tasks anywhere. The use of Java in addition to JavaScript to manage customization and integration provides better exception handling capabilities ,as well as faster access to external enterprise applications, resulting in stronger integration capabilities.
